Once we grudgingly accepted that the bright lights, flowers and zillions of people were not out to greet us, but were filling the streets of Saigon to celebrate the Tet holiday, we decided to join in the party. Families were out in full force, photographing their children with wooden cut outs of cartoon characters. Mel got into the spirit of things straight away.
